Polish energy company ORLEN has inaugurated its first fast charging center for electric vehicles on the S7 highway, marking a firm step in its national expansion plan and boost for zero-emission mobility.

Located in the Olsztynek Południe service area, the new station allows for full recharging of electric vehicles in just 20 minutes. It is equipped with chargers of up to 400 kW and a dynamic system that distributes power according to the demand of each vehicle. In total, it can serve eight cars at the same time, it can serve eight cars at the same timemaintaining efficiency regardless of the level of occupancy.

Expansion of fast charging center in Poland

This center is part of the ORLEN Chargeprogram, a network that already exceeds 1,200 charging points in Poland. The company plans to open more than a dozen similar centers before the end of the year, in key locations such as Szczecin, Gorzów Wielkopolski and Nowy Dwór Gdański. The plan calls for 50 new hubs over the next two years, prioritizing major intercity transit routes.

The intelligent energy management system automatically adjusts the power delivered to each vehicle, improving the efficiency of the process and reducing waiting times. The chargers are designed to meet the technical requirements of the most advanced electric models on the market today.

Infrastructure adapted for long trips

The new facilities are distributed at strategic points on freeways and expressways, making long-distance journeys easier. For example, a journey between Białystok and Krakow can be completed with a single stop at stations such as Szumowo or Brzegi, or split into several short recharges to coincide with recommended breaks on the road.

This infrastructure is part of the Perun E-mobilityproject, co-financed by the European Union under the CEF Transport AFIF program. ORLEN, which also operates in other European markets, aligns this expansion with its sustainability strategy for 2035, seeking to lead in the public recharging in Poland and advance the energy transition of regional transport.
