First shipment of Brazilian biodiesel

This shipment is composed entirely of soybean oil, produced at Olfar’s facility located in Erechim, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. Olfar has observed a growing interest in biodiesel from the Asian market, which represents a window of commercial opportunities for the entire South American continent.

This trend is supported by the remarkable increase in Brazilian biodiesel exports, which have more than doubled in 2023, reaching 107.9 million liters, compared to 41.9 million liters exported in 2022. Europe and the United States were the main destinations for these exports, with Be8 standing out for having shipped 85 million liters of the total.

In addition, Olfar expressed optimism for the future, anticipating an expansion of its operations following the liberalization of the export market and the recent increase in the biodiesel blending mandate. biodiesel blend mandate from 12% to 14% by the National Energy Policy Council (CNPE) in the middle of this month. This regulatory adjustment not only benefits the Olfar group group, but also promotes the use of cleaner and more sustainable energies in Brazil.
