OceanSTAR Engineering Holding has formalized a charter contract with PETRONAS Carigali to manage operations at the Sepat field in Peninsular Malaysia.

Management and technical control of the Sepat field

The offshore processing unit will be based on the OSE GH200 generic hull model. This technical decision enables the multiple-build concept under a single design, optimizing delivery times and structural reliability in 70-meter-deep waters.

Likewise, execution under the EPCIC model ensures that OceanSTAR assumes full responsibility from initial engineering through commissioning. The vessel will process an estimated 30,000 barrels of liquids per day. This capacity is vital to the integrated redevelopment plans that the state operator is implementing in Block PM313.

The Sepat field development aims to increase volume and improve resource recovery efficiency. The infrastructure will feature state-of-the-art gas lift and gas injection systems. In later stages, the integration of water injection systems is planned to maximize the reservoir’s service life.

Similarly, work teams in Kuala Lumpur are moving forward with the detailed engineering phase. Procurement of critical components is already underway, ensuring the schedule is met under the offshore sector’s strictest safety standards. Collaboration between both organizations ensures a stable, long-term operation in the hydrocarbons sector.
