Backed by an investment of close to 2 billion euros, Ocean Winds has reached financial close on the BC-Wind project, its first offshore wind farm in Poland. This step is crucial because it means that the project leaves the planning phase and officially moves into the construction phase.
Steady progress towards construction
The BC-Wind offshore wind farm will have a capacity of 390 MW, generated by 26 wind turbines of 14 MW each, with Power Boost technology that increases power to 15 MW per unit.
The wind farm is expected to be operational in 2028, generating enough electricity to supply nearly 500,000 Polish households. The construction phase will begin in 2026, following several years of regulatory and environmental procedures completed by Ocean Winds.
A project supported by key institutions
The financing has been structured with the participation of the European Investment Bank (EIB). European Investment Bank (EIB)the Instituto de Crédito Oficial (ICO) of Spain, and a consortium of 13 commercial banks. The EIB is providing close to one-third of the total, reflecting the soundness and maturity of the project.

Impact on the local economy
