Ocean Network Express welcomes ONE Innovation: its 24,000 TEU flagship

Ocean Network Express (ONE) has announced the successful delivery of its first 24,000 TEU class “Megamax” vessel. The vessel, named ONE Innovation, was built at Japan Marine United Corporation’s Kure Shipyard and delivered on June 2.

With a capacity of up to 24,136 TEUs, the ONE Innovation becomes the largest ship in the ONE fleet. The vessel’s state-of-the-art hull design aims to maximize cargo input and minimize fuel consumption.

It features several environmentally friendly technologies, including a bow windscreen, an energy saving device, and an exhaust gas cleaning system that meets International Maritime Organization emission standards.

ONE Innovation is the first of six new Megamax vessels to join the ONE fleet. It will be deployed on the Asia to Europe (FE3) service, operating under THE Alliance (THEA). The rotation will be: Ningbo – Xiamen – Kaohsiung – Yantian – Singapore – Rotterdam – Hamburg – Antwerp – Southampton – Algeciras – Singapore – Yantian – Hong Kong – Kaohsiung – Ningbo.

The addition of the Megamax class will help ONE offer more competitive and quality services to its customers, while reducing its environmental impact.

“This newly built vessel will help us pave the way for the sustainable development of global logistics and respond to customer requests with the world’s No. 1 quality of service,” said Yu Kurimoto, CEO of ONE. “Last year, we announced our ‘Green Vision,’ which aims to achieve net zero emissions by 2050. We are actively working to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from our fleet, and we are confident that this ship will contribute to this effort and will bring innovation. to global logistics,” he added.
