Nuvera Fuel Cells has announced the first demonstration of its HydroCharge mobile generator . Designed to run on hydrogen, the generator combines the ability to generate alternating current electricity with a fast-charging system for electric vehicles .

Plus, it’s designed to meet the California Air Resources Board’s zero-emission mandates for 2028.
This hydrogen-powered mobile system combines clean energy generation with fast charging for electric vehicles , providing alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC) power. It is ideal for multiple applications, such as warehouses, airports and outdoor events, functioning as a portable, reliable and sustainable source .
With the capacity to provide energy backup in critical facilities, power supply for electrical equipment and temporary needs in activities such as festivals or film sets, it stands out for its rapid replenishment, comparable to that of diesel generators , and is positioned as a key solution for the energy transition.
Strategic collaboration and on-site demonstration
The unit, developed in conjunction with Power Innovations International, was officially unveiled at the ACT Expo 2024 in Las Vegas . It is currently undergoing validation testing, with a view to full commercialization. An initial demonstration is scheduled at Papé Material Handling’s facility in City of Industry, California, where its ability to power electrical equipment and recharge fleets of vehicles will be tested.
