German wind turbine manufacturer Nordex Group has received an order to supply 369 MW of wind turbines from energy company Celsia for three wind projects in Colombia.

Under the contract, Nordex will deliver 63 wind turbines to be installed at the Acacia II, Camelias and Carreto wind farms.

Acacia II and Camelias are being developed in La Guajira, while the Carreto wind project is located in Atlántico.

The Carreto wind farm will be equipped with two N155/4.8 wind turbines, while Acacia II and Camelias will have 16 and 45 N155/5.X wind turbines, respectively.

The order also includes a five-year premium service contract with the option to extend for an additional five years.

Nordex Group sales director Patxi Landa said, “In recent years, Colombia has become a key new country in Latin America for Nordex Group. We will now work closely with Celsia to help them achieve their goals for their first wind power project in Colombia.

Nordex plans to produce the wind turbines locally. These will be deployed on concrete towers with a hub height of 120 meters. Installation work will begin early next year.

Once completed, Nordex will have 594 MW of installed capacity in Colombia. Earlier this month, Nordex Group won an order to supply 105 MW wind turbines for the Krivaca wind farm in Serbia.

The company will deliver 22 of its N149 turbines in 4.8 MW operational mode for the project early next year. The Krivaca wind farm will have the capacity to generate 310 GWh of clean energy per year, equivalent to almost 1% of Serbia’s total energy consumption.
