Mitsubishi Electric Automation Inc. has introduced the latest addition to its line of pre-engineered work cells, adding to its LoadMate Plus. The company has announced that its new Automated Robotics Industrial Assistant, known as ARIA, is intended to be a cost-effective solution to pressing problems faced by various industries.

In this context, David Simak, product manager at Mitsubishi Electric, stressed that ARIA responds to the immediate need for flexible and cost-effective automation to overcome common challenges in the industry, such as labor shortages, productivity issues and maintaining quality standards.

ARIA is distinguished by its fully adaptable configuration and mobility, making it an optimal solution for various applications within a specific installation.

ARIA industrial robotics assistant models

ARIA is offered in two basic models: a standard base and a machine tool base, designed for payloads up to 13 kg (28.6 lb) and a reach of 1,503 mm (59.1 in). The company has indicated that ARIA can operate both as a stand-alone cell and as part of a larger system. The Standard Base option is aimed at industrial applications that require flexibility and mobility, while the Machine Tool Base is ideal for CNC milling machines, lathes and Swiss applications.

Both bases are compatible with collaborative robots vertical/articulated and SCARA robots from Mitsubishi Electric. The ARIA package includes an FX5 programmable logic controller (PLC), an external 120 V power outlet, casters with leveling screws and a network switch with external Ethernet port. It also features an operator station with push button panel, floor mounting brackets and other additional components.

Mitsubishi also provides accessories such as pre-programmed software packages, RT ToolBox3 software, MELFA Works for robot simulation, MELFA Safe Plus, force sensors, R86TB high-performance learning consoles and two human-machine interface (HMI) options.

Expansion of the range of industrial robots

In an effort to expand its offering, Mitsubishi Electric recently launched a new series of robots designed for applications that require handling heavier payloads and reaching greater distances. The new RV-35/50/80 FR series is focused on handling large parts and heavy objects, providing increased automation opportunities for OEMs and end users.

These industrial robots are equipped with exceptional speed and precision, capable of meeting the demands of today’s manufacturing applications. The series is designed to offer an expanded working environment and greater load and reach capabilities compared to Mitsubishi’s previous series.
