McDonald’s Corporat i on and Google have revealed a new strategic collaboration to integrate Google Cloud technology into the infrastructure of numerous restaurants globally. Through this partnership, McDonald’s will be able to incorporate a variety of hardware, data analytics and artificial intelligence technologies provided by Google Cloud.

The purpose of this alliance is to expedite the implementation of innovations and improve experiences for both customers and work teams and employees in their establishments.

We see enormous growth opportunity in our digital business and our partnership with Google Cloud allows us to capitalize on this by leveraging our size and scale to build capabilities and deploy solutions at unparalleled speeds ,” said Brian Rice, McDonald’s executive vice president and global.

Although the restaurant chain did not specify how AI will be used, in a statement it assured that “will roll out advancements to its restaurant and customer platforms, from its popular mobile app that serves as a gateway to its 150 million-member and rapidly expanding loyalty program, to its thousands of self-service kiosks around the world”.

Likewise, they announced the intention to deploy Google Distributed Cloud, an integrated hardware and software offering, in a large number of McDonald’s restaurants. This will allow establishments to use cloud-based software applications and artificial intelligence solutions directly on site, as needed.

Through this far-reaching partnership, Google Cloud will help McDonald’s seize new opportunities to transform its business and customer experiences, empowering restaurants around the world with the latest technologies for near-term impact.”said Thomas Kurian, CEO of Google Cloud.
