Multinational logistics multinational Maersk and energy technology specialist CATL have signed a memorandum of understanding(MoU), for the start of a new phase in the energy conversion of the international supply chain and logistics.

The multinational maritime aims to eliminate its net greenhouse gas emissions by 2040, while the energy company aims to achieve emissions by 2040, while the energy company aims to achieve neutrality in its operations by 2025 and throughout its supply chain by 2035. This collaboration will enable them to combine logistics expertise and energy storage technology to achieve these goals.
The agreement makes Maersk the preferred logistics partner of CATL, handling shipping, airfreight, warehousing and project logistics. This strengthens a business relationship that has been in continuous cooperation for five years.
CATL will provide leadership in battery technology battery technology to electrify the logistics ecosystem, including sea containers, ports and land transport. Also contemplated is the implementation of electric systems, energy management models and recycling plans for batteries at the end of their useful life.
The integration between the operational network and technological development of both companies aims to accelerate the global transition to cleaner and more resilient logistics in the future of the global marketplace.
