Liebherr announces delivery of two R 9350 excavators to Kascco in Zambia

The units join a fleet that includes 15 T 284 trucks, two R 9250 excavators and two R 9100s.

Kascco Mining has taken delivery of two 300-tonne R 9350 excavators from Liebherr to operate at the Sentinel copper mine in northwest Zambia. These are the first units supplied to the company by the mining segment, marking an expansion of the partnership between the two organizations.

The first excavator started operations last April and the second one in August 2025. Both machines were integrated into the Sentinel mine operations, which is part of the Trident project operated by First Quantum Minerals. These units join an existing fleet at the mine, which includes 15 T 284 trucks, two R 9250 excavators and two R 9100s.

Although Liebherr and Kascco had a business relationship that focused on construction equipmentThis delivery represents the first foray into mining equipment. The move reflects the growing demand for high-capacity solutions from Kascco, one of the country’s largest contractors.

The Liebherr Zambia subsidiary has established a direct technical presence in Kalumbila to ensure the operational performance of the excavators. Specialized technicians will be dedicated to providing maintenance and support on the project, allowing Kascco to maintain its productivity levels and operational availability.
