The recent agreement between Lamprell and RTE International represents a strategic move to consolidate comprehensive solutions for offshore wind power in a market demanding technical precision and scalability. This non-exclusive collaboration aims to capture opportunities in the integration of high-voltage (HV) transmission systems for power export.
Technical Expertise for Offshore Wind Power Infrastructure
The proposed work scheme under this framework of understanding focuses on the EPCI model. This covers everything from initial engineering to the final installation of cable systems and platforms that enable electricity generated offshore to be brought to onshore consumption centers. Likewise, the union of forces allows Lamprell to contribute its vast experience in manufacturing jacket structures and offshore modules, while RTE International provides technical support as a subsidiary of Europe’s largest grid operator.
Lamprell’s more than five decades of experience in the United Arab Emirates and its presence in Saudi Arabia provide a solid operational base for large-scale projects. Through this partnership, the group seeks to optimize the delivery of complex infrastructure, ensuring that deadlines and budgets are rigorously met. RTE International’s expertise in electrical system consulting complements this offering, allowing transmission solutions to be efficient and stable for grid operators.
It is evident that the demand for offshore wind farms will continue to increase in the coming years. Therefore, the strategic collaboration focuses on developing solutions that effectively integrate high-voltage cables and transformer stations. The joint efforts between both entities will enable them to tackle technically complex projects, facilitating the safe and reliable connection of clean energy sources to terrestrial grids.
