As part of the NISTM 2025 Conference, Richard Stovall, representative of Jensen Mixers, shared details about the company’s innovations in the side entry mixer sector, especially focused on the oil and gas industry.

The technological innovations of Jensen Mixers

This evolution towards environmental protection has been a relevant factor in the improvement of Jensen Mixers’ products and services, which now integrate leak detection and prevention technologies to keep products safely inside the tanks.

Over the past 10 years, we have placed great emphasis on preventing leaks, as environmental regulations have become stricter and penalties for these incidents have become increasingly severe.

Stovall detailed during the interview.

The Phoenix thruster and Sentry notification system

This thruster was designed by an engineer who specializes in propellants for naval vessels. According to Stovall, “the Phoenix thruster is designed to be the most efficient way to move the product inside the tank,” reducing the amount of power required to generate the same amount of thrust.

Also, the Sentry notification system is a leak detection and containment system that includes a sealing chamber installed in the mixer. This device captures any type of leakage from the mixer’s mechanical seal, preventing the product from spilling onto the floor.

In addition, the system has float switches that alert the operators to the developing developing leakageThis gives them time to fix the problem properly and avoid costly shutdowns.

For Jensen Mixers, facing these challenges, it has been dedicated to optimizing its manufacturing processes, which has allowed it to improve delivery times and spare parts availability.

This approach is especially relevant in an environment where tank downtime can generate losses in the millions. The proximity of suppliers to Jensen’s factory ensures that parts are available quickly, minimizing the impact of operational downtime.

Although not as many tanks are being built, the need for mixers continues, and so far we have had a good year.

Jensen’s representative stated.
