The Basque company Irizar e-mobility and the London company Go-Ahead signed an agreement for the acquisition of a fleet of 20 electric buses and their corresponding charging system that will serve them.

Jema Energy (a subsidiary company of the Irizar Group) will supply two 450 kW ultra-fast chargers for the route terminals and 100 kW chargers in parking lots, capable of charging two buses simultaneously at 50 kW.

The model chosen by Go-Ahead is the 12-meter-long Irizar ie tram, the first to be manufactured with a right-hand drive and the first of the brand to be introduced in the United Kingdom.

The buses will be powered by the latest-generation batteries from the Irizar Group and will be recharged through two fast-charging pantographs with an inverted system that will be installed at the Crystal Palace and Orpington Bus stations and will allow the buses to be charged in less than 5 minutes and perform the required service effortlessly. Once the route is finished, the buses will receive a brief recharge using the chargers in the parking lots.

Irizar e-mobility zero emission buses will operate on line 358, which connects Crystal Palace with Orpingthon, and their delivery is scheduled for the end of 2022.
