Major well interconnection contract for Subsea7

Craig Broussard, Subsea7 vice president for the Gulf of Mexico, has highlighted this contract as a reinforcement of the strategic partnership with Talos Energy, promoting collaboration from the early stages of the project to ensure a more efficient and predictable execution.

The company Talos Energy confirmed in August 2023 the discovery of oil and gas in Sunspear, located in Block 78 of Green Canyon. Preliminary drilling results revealed an oil layer approximately 260 feet thick vertically in gross, with 177 net feet distributed over two main targets.

The extracted oil will be directed to the recently acquired Prince platform, with first oil expected in 18 to 24 months, the company said after the discovery. Talos’ partners in this project include Ridgewood Energy Corporation with 47.5%, and Houston Energy with 4.5%.
