Uruguay is hosting the XX SLOM Conference, which will take place in Punta del Este from September 11 to 13, 2024. This important event, organized by the Latin American Society of Marine Oil and Monobuoy Terminal Operators (SLOM), has been consolidated since 2005 as the ideal scenario for the exchange of experiences, knowledge and new technologies in the maritime, port and oil sector.
In this edition, the central theme will be the role of terminals in the energy transition.
XX SLOM Conference: Innovation and Sustainability in the Maritime Industry
The main objective of the conference is to provide a space to discuss the best practices in the operation and maintenance of maritime terminalsemphasizing safety, efficiency, sustainability and competitiveness. In addition, the event promotes dialogue on the reconversion of the oil infrastructure towards cleaner energies, which is relevant in a context of growing interest in the energy transition.
Under the slogan #IntegradosPodemosMás, the XX Jornada SLOM will feature an extensive program of lectures, ranging from sustainability topics to cutting-edge technologies. Highlights of the program include:
- Institutional Presentations: By representatives of ANCAP, TRANSPETRO and the Association for Materials Protection and Performance (AMPP).
- Workshops and technical conferences: Topics such as the application of simulation technologies for accident prevention in monobuoys, energy efficiency and emissions management, among others, will be addressed.
- Panel discussions: One of the most anticipated is the panel on “Oil infrastructure and its conversion to the energies of the future”, moderated by experts from AUDER and with the participation of leaders from companies such as Frontera Energy and Grupo RAS.
- Case studies: Energy transition projects led by companies such as ANCAP will be presented, as well as examples of efficiency in maritime terminals in different Latin American countries.
- Business visits and activities: During the event, attendees will be able to participate in the business showcase and networking activities.
In addition to ANCAP and TRANSPETRO, other leading companies such as BECHT, Flexomarine y Ecopetrol support this event, providing the ideal space to explore the latest trends in technology, safety and sustainability in the maritime and oil industry.
