The Bitso exchange launched a new service in Argentina that will allow you to pay with cryptocurrencies through a QR code, according to a statement. Bitso is the first platform to enable this type of payment in Latin America. The new function will allow you to pay directly with a balance in Argentine pesos, digital dollars, bitcoin, ether or DAI.

Argentina is the first market in which the company offers this solution to its users, since it is the country where the use of this form of payment is most widespread. According to a recent study: 59% of Argentines have used QR payments in the last year, compared to an average of 34% in the region, and 83% expect to pay with QR in the next year, well above the 63% from Latin America.

This new service will allow the more than 1 million Bitso clients in Argentina to pay their daily expenses from the App in any store that accepts payments with QR.

To make a payment, the user can choose between Argentine pesos (ARS), digital dollars (USD stablecoins), bitcoin (BTC), ether (ETH) or DAI. If a cryptocurrency is chosen, Bitso makes an automatic conversion to Argentine pesos with the best exchange rate and then makes the payment to the merchant. If the payment is made directly with pesos, no charge applies.

The new function will be enabled for Argentine Bitso clients progressively starting on September 27.
