Operaciones petroleras en Texas se restablecen tras el Huracán Beryl

Following the passage of Hurricane Beryl through Texas, oil and gas companies restarted operations today, facing material damage and massive power outages due to 130 km/h winds.

Beryl made landfall near Matagorda yesterday, forcing the closure of ports and channels. Although some facilities reduced production, a moderate impact on oil and gas production is anticipated. Also, some ports were preparing to reopen soon, while several producers and facilities began to increase production after reducing processing as a precautionary measure.

It is worth noting that millions of customers remained without electricity since yesterday, with forecasts of prolonged outages due to the severity of the storm, surpassing the May event in Houston.

Hurricane Beryl and oil operations in Texas

Texas, a leader in oil and gas production in the U.S., faces logistical and economic challenges with imports and exports affected by weather conditions.

Despite the flooding, refineries in Houston and Texas City are expected to maintain operations, although critical infrastructure could suffer extended outages due to power outages.

The U.S. National Hurricane Center . anticipated that Beryl would gradually weaken to a tropical depression. The storm was moving north-northeastward and was expected to accelerate its path from the Mississippi Valley into the Ohio Valley over the next few days.
