HSM Offshore Energy has announced with satisfaction the successful loading and subsequent offshore transfer of the topside and jacket of N05-A platform, destined for ONE-Dyas. This important step took place at its shipyard located in Schiedam, The Netherlands.
Construction of the N05-A platform
To carry out this operation, the upper structure and the platform base were placed on the barge H-406, owned by Heerema Marine Contractors. The maneuver was carried out with the help of self-propelled modular transporters(SPMT), managed by the company Mammoetunder the company’s supervision. The next destination for these structures is their location in the North Sea, where the platform is expected to start producing gas by the end of 2024.

The N05-A project is a major investment in offshore infrastructure, with the construction of a platform consisting of a topside and a six-legged unarmored jacket. The topside measures 61.5 x 34 x 15 meters and weighs 3200 tons, while the jacket measures 40 x 20 x 50 meters and weighs 2800 tons.
The future of gas production in the Netherlands
Once N05-A is fully operational, it will become the first electrified gas production facility in the North Sea, powered exclusively by renewable energy from the Riffgat offshore wind farm. This development is a breakthrough and a solid technological step forward for HSM Offshore Energy, strengthening its commitment to local gas production. local gas production in the Netherlands in the Netherlands and its leadership in the transition to clean energy.
The N05-A platform, designed to operate autonomously, will function as an unmanned facility(NNMI). In addition, its infrastructure will include a gas pipeline that will connect to the existing Noordgastransport(NGT) network, thus facilitating gas distribution and improving services to its future customers in the Netherlands and Germany.
