Hellenic Cables to supply inter-array cables for the East Anglia TWO wind farm

The manufacturer Hellenic Cables has been selected by Seaway7 to supply approximately 165 km of 66 kV inter-array cables for the East Anglia TWO (EA2) wind farm (EA2) wind farm, located in the North Sea off the coast of Suffolk, UK.

Cable supply for the East Anglia TWO wind farm

The East Anglia TWO project is part of the East Anglia Hub, promoted by ScottishPower Renewables . In addition, the facility is expected to house up to 64 wind turbines with a total capacity of up to 960 megawatts of power.

This scope of the contract includes the engineering, design, manufacture, testing and delivery of the submarine cables and accessories. The entire process will be carried out at Hellenic Cables’ manufacturing plant in Corinth, Greece, recognized for its state-of-the-art technology and production capacity without factory splicing.

This new contract strengthens the collaboration between Hellenic Cables, Seaway7 and ScottishPower Renewables, following a previous agreement related to East Anglia THREE. The synergy between these companies seeks to optimize offshore wind energy infrastructure through highly reliable technical solutions.

With more than seven decades of experience, the company is consolidating its position as a benchmark supplier of sustainable energy projects. Moreover, its participation in East Anglia TWO represents a new step towards strengthening the United Kingdom’s marine power grid and moving towards a low-carbon energy matrix.
