The consortium formed by Hellenic Cables and Asso.subsea has been selected by the Réseau de Transport d’Électricité ( RTE ) to supply and install the export cables for the Dunkerque offshore wind farm. This project, with an estimated capacity of between 500 and 600 megawatts, will strengthen France’s renewable energy infrastructure.

Hellenic Cables will be responsible for the design, manufacture, and supply of 32 kilometers of submarine cables for the double cable link , as well as 38 kilometers of underground cables for the double three-phase terrestrial link.
In addition, it will provide the necessary accessories, perform splicing, testing, and termination work, and will be responsible for commissioning the cable links. The submarine cables will be produced at Hellenic Cables’ state-of-the-art facility in Corinth, Greece, while the terrestrial cables will be manufactured at the Thiva facility, which is currently undergoing expansion.
For its part, Asso.subsea will assume responsibility for the transport, laying, and protection of the submarine cable links. The company will utilize its advanced fleet and specialized, proprietary equipment to ensure precision, efficiency, and high quality standards throughout the entire process. The project presents challenges due to the complex laying and burial operations in shallow waters, an area in which Asso.subsea has extensive experience.
This contract underscores Hellenic Cables and Asso.subsea ‘s commitment to advancing renewable energy infrastructure and supporting France’s sustainable energy goals. The collaboration between these companies and RTE reflects a strong partnership aimed at integrating reliable and sustainable energy solutions into the French electricity grid .
