Grenergy agrees to sell 7 solar plants in Colombia to Ecopetrol

Grenergy has closed an agreement with Ecopetrol to transfer seven solar plants in Colombia with an installed capacity of 88 megawatts (MW). This transaction is in line with the asset rotation strategy that the company presented at its Capital Markets Day in May 2025.

The projects, all distributed generation, will be delivered throughout 2026 in different phases. The company will maintain control of the operation and maintenance (O&M) of the plants for up to two years, reinforcing its role as a key player in the Colombian renewable ecosystem.

Sale of seven solar plants boosts asset turnover

With this sale, the company has achieved more than 60% of its target of generating €800 million through asset rotation by 2027. The company has carried out other noteworthy transactions over the last year, including the sale of assets in Chile and Spain, consolidating its profile as a developer and integrator of energy projects large-scale energy projects.

Despite the sale, the company maintains a strategic position in the country, with an active pipeline of 12 projects totaling nearly 150 MW in different stages of development. This move does not represent a withdrawal, but rather an optimization of the portfolio and a reaffirmation of its commitment to Latin America.

Financial results on the rise

In the first nine months of 2025, Grenergy recorded revenues of €687 million, an increase of 147% compared to the same period last year. EBITDA grew by 109% and net profit increased sevenfold to €45 million.

This operation with Ecopetrol underlines Grenergy’s ability to combine growth, profitability and dynamic asset management in strategic markets.
