Athens-based international shipping company Icon Energy Corp. listed on Nasdaq under the ticker symbol ICON, has added to its fleet the 2020-built bulk carrier MV Charlie, equipped with emissions scrubbing system. The delivery took place on June 21 and represents a new step in the company’s disciplined growth strategy.
MV Charlie integrated as an efficient and operational unit
The MV Charlie is an Ultramax type bulk carrier, 199 meters in length and with a deadweight of 63,668 tons. She has been chartered on a bareboat charter from an unaffiliated third party and was immediately assigned to a time charter with an international dry cargo operator.
This contract has an estimated duration of 9 to 12 months and provides for a variable daily charter rate, calculated based on the Supramax Baltic index. In addition, Icon will receive additional revenue from fuel savings. fuel savings generated by the use of the vessel’s built-in scrubber.
