Global Marine Group acquires Normand Clipper from Solstad Maritime

Solstad Maritime has confirmed the sale of the Normand Clipper to Global Marine Group, the vessel’s current operator since 2020, for future maritime projects.

This transfer of ownership will take place at the end of the current contract, on June 1, 2026. Until then, the vessel will continue to serve as a specialized submarine cable-laying platform, a role it has performed under the management of Global Marine Group in many regions of the world.

The transaction represents a profit of approximately US$10 million for Solstad Maritime, which will be reflected in its financial results for the second quarter of 2026. The sale comes in the context of a restructuring of assets within the Norwegian company’s offshore portfolio.
