Norwegian company Glamox has been successful in securing three significant contracts to upgrade lighting for offshore wind projects in Asia, aimed at improving the safety and coverage of power farms in Taiwan and South Korea.

Lighting support for offshore wind projects in Asia

Specifically, SK Oceanplant has entrusted Glamox with the supply of 468 units of the TL60-1200 linear LED luminaire and 52 units of the RLX80 reflector. These will be used to light 52 transition structures at the Hai Long 2 and Hai Long 3 wind farms in Taiwan, together totaling a capacity of 1,044 MW.

Moreover, responsibility for the installation of this lighting system has been assigned to SK Oceanplant, with the expectation that the project will be completed by the second quarter of 2025. Next, HSG Sungdong Shipbuilding of Korea has selected Glamox to supply 636 Glamox MIR linear luminaires and 36 Glamox FL60 40W reflectors, which will be installed on 36 transition structures for the Greater Changhua 2b and 4 projects in Taiwan.

This second project will be carried out directly at the shipyard, with completion scheduled for the third quarter of 2025. Importantly, the Greater Changhua 2b and 4 projects, with a combined capacity of 920 MW, will house approximately 65 wind turbines of 14 MW each.

Other important projects for the company

Finally, Hyundai Engineering & Steel Industries (HESI) of South Korea has awarded the company the contract for the supply of 170 MIR model linear luminaires, 50 MIX model units and 28 E20-S emergency lighting kits.

This material will be used to illuminate ten transition structures in the 99 MW Jeonnam phase of the offshore wind project. offshore wind project . HESI will oversee the installation of these systems, with the goal of completing the project in the first quarter of 2025.
