GEVI, based in Pisa and Rome, has closed a €2.7 million seed financing round led by 360 Capital through the Poli360 fund, together with CDP Venture Capital SGR and UK firm NextStep One. The capital injection will enable the start of series production of AI wind turbines, developed to operate in urban and low wind pressure.

AI wind turbines for wind optimization

GEVI’s wind turbine has a self-learning system that adjusts the blades in real time using an AI-based control algorithm. This continuous adaptation capability improves performance and reduces mechanical wear, increasing efficiency by up to 60% compared to traditional vertical models. In addition, it operates at low noise levels, making it ideal for residential and rooftop applications.

The investment received will be used to industrialize the design, perfect the intelligent control system and develop future versions adapted to different environments. Giuseppe Imburgia has been appointed new CEO, while the founders, Emanuele Luzzati, Edoardo Simonelli and Soufiane Essakhi, will continue to lead the engineering, product and operations areas respectively.

Transition to distributed energy

The GEVI’s technology technology seeks to drive decentralized generation by combining wind turbines with solar panelsoffering a hybrid solution adaptable to local microgrids. Its compact and modular design aims to transform the use of wind energy in urban areas, facilitating energy autonomy and reducing dependence on conventional infrastructures.

The participating funds highlight GEVI’s ability to translate advanced research into scalable industrial solutions. Investors are confident in its potential to redefine the urban energy model and make a tangible contribution to the transition to smarter, more accessible and sustainable renewable sources.
