Robotics company Figure AI has announced the opening of BotQ, a manufacturing facility with an initial capacity of 12,000 humanoid robots per year . Located in California, this facility represents a breakthrough in industrial automation, as it will use humanoid robots to manufacture more robots, increasing efficiency and reducing human intervention.

Important details of BotQ

One of the most innovative aspects of BotQ is its robot-making system. Thanks to Figure AI’s internal artificial intelligence , the humanoids will participate in key assembly and logistics processes within the factory, enabling faster production speeds and reduced operating costs.

To ensure efficiency, Figure AI has developed a digital manufacturing ecosystem based on Manufacturing Execution Software (MES), which tracks every stage of assembly in real time, ensuring quality control and process optimization.

With the goal of making production more efficient, the company has also redesigned its line of robots and changed traditional manufacturing methods. Instead of slow processes like CNC machining, it has opted for techniques like injection molding and die casting, which significantly reduces part manufacturing time.

The new model, called Figure 03 , has been optimized to facilitate mass assembly, which will reduce costs and increase the availability of these humanoids in various sectors.

A supply chain designed for scalability

Unlike other industries, the humanoid robotics sector lacks a consolidated supply chain. Therefore, Figure AI has developed its own production infrastructure, manufacturing critical components such as actuators, sensors, and batteries in-house. It has also established strategic partnerships with suppliers capable of scaling production to 100,000 robots in the coming years.

The launch of BotQ represents a breakthrough in humanoid robot manufacturing and lays the groundwork for a new era of automated manufacturing, where the combination of AI, automation, and optimized design accelerates production and reduces costs.

Robots that make robots

Figure AI plans to continue expanding the plant’s capacity and improve the integration of robots into its production lines. With this vision, the company seeks to establish itself as a leader in large-scale humanoid robot manufacturing. In the following video, the company shows more details about the new manufacturing plant.
