FieldAI Brain transforms construction with autonomous robotics

FieldAI and DPR Construction partnership sets a new standard in jobsite efficiency and safety through artificial intelligence

In an industry worth more than $13 trillion, construction continues to struggle with inefficiencies, labor risks and labor shortages. Against this backdrop, FieldAI Brain is positioned as a technology solution to transform the way projects are managed.

Its alliance with DPR Construction is an example of how autonomous robotics can be autonomous robotics driven by artificial intelligence can optimize times, reduce errors and improve site safety.

Intelligent automation on real construction sites

In complex projects such as hospitals data centers or skyscrapers, documenting progress often requires hours of walking around, capturing photos and manually uploading information. With FieldAI Brain, robots perform these tasks autonomously, providing engineering teams with a source of real-time, up-to-date information.

In its collaboration with DPR, FieldAI deployed a system that achieved:

  • Capture more than 45,000 photographs
  • Travel more than 100 miles within the site.
  • Scan 500,000 square feet of interiors
  • Document 125,000 sq. ft. of roofing

Safety and efficiency, construction site priorities

In addition to improving documentation, AI-enabled robotics addresses critical risks. In the United States, construction accounts for more than 1,000 deaths a year from preventable accidents. FieldAI can detect dangerous conditions such as missing handrails or spills, and generate early warnings that save lives.

The platform also responds to the shortage of skilled labor. With estimates projecting a shortfall of 500,000 workers by 2025, the ability of robots to fill repetitive tasks becomes essential to keep up with construction.

A tool that adapts to each site

Unlike other systems, FieldAI Brain does not rely on fixed routes or predefined maps. Its autonomy adjusts to the daily changes of the site environment, allowing it to operate reliably even in dynamic and demanding conditions.

In addition, the same robot can perform multiple functions such as safety inspections, progress mapping, interior scanning or material transport. This versatility multiplies the return on investment, integrating into a single tool what previously required separate equipment and disconnected processes.

The DPR case: tangible results

In its implementation with DPR, the benefits were immediate. Managers no longer need to constantly walk the site; they can focus on making strategic decisions based on reliable data.

The FieldAI system allows us to be better at what we do. It gives us greater efficiency, helps us document items more effectively and makes it easier for us to perform some routine tasks, allowing us to focus on the more detailed and critical tasks.

Justin Schreiner, DPR senior superintendent in charge of the project.

Construction enters a new era

The collaboration between FieldAI and DPR marks the beginning of a new industry standard. As more companies adopt this technology, it will be possible to scale robotic autonomy models across hundreds of simultaneous projects, reducing errors, improving traceability and optimizing resources.
