The event will consist of four panels, each one focused on a key area of the renewable energy sector.

The first, entitled “Trends and competitiveness in the solar sector: Vision of Leaders”, will include the participation of Alejandro Pintado, Product Manager of Growatt New Energy; José Irastorza, Business Development Director of Risen; Luis Contreras, Managing Director of Yingli; and Daniel Peña, Head of Sales Iberia at Jinko Solar.

It should be noted that Spain is one of the countries with the highest photovoltaic penetration in the world and leader in installed power in Europe in 2022, according to the annual report of the Spanish Photovoltaic Industry Association (AIF).

The report highlights that, in 2022, the installed photovoltaic capacity in Spain reached 17.9 GW, which represents a growth of 38% compared to the previous year.

In addition, the AIF foresees that the Spanish market for photovoltaic solar energy will continue to grow in the coming years, thanks to the competitiveness of technology prices and consumer demand for green energy. This trend opens up great opportunities for the Spanish energy sector and its ability to lead the energy transition in Europe.

The second panel, “Onshore and Offshore Wind Development Strategies”, will explore the latest trends and developments in the wind energy market.

Among the panelists will be Blanca Monteagudo, Sales and Commercial Director – South Europe Onshore Wind of General Electric; Luis Rafael Ordóñez Segura, CEO of Telener 360; and executives from Vestas, one of the most important companies in the manufacture of wind turbines, will share their perspectives and experiences.

According to data from the Wind Energy Association (AEE), installed wind power in Spain has grown by 1,670 MW in 2022, which represents an increase of 6% compared to the previous year and brings the total installed capacity to almost 30 GW.

In addition, the growth trend is expected to continue in the coming years, as more than 4 GW of additional wind power is expected to be installed in the country by 2025. This increase in installed capacity reflects the country’s commitment to the energy transition and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.

The third panel, “Spain as a driver of green hydrogen in Europe”, will discuss the role that Spain can play in promoting green hydrogen in Europe.

Speakers include Eugenio Trillo, Director of Lean Hydrogen; Frans Pieter Lindeboom, Country Manager of LHYFE; and Dorian de Kermadec, Senior Principal at AFRY Management Consulting, will discuss the challenges and opportunities presented by the green hydrogen market in Spain and Europe.

According to the International Energy Agency (IEA), the demand for green hydrogen is expected to reach 530 TWh in 2027 in the world, which is equivalent to the annual energy production of all wind farms and solar photovoltaics in the world in 2020.

There it is highlighted that Spain could play a role in the development of green hydrogen, thanks to its proactive policies to support this emerging industry.

Spain has a large amount of renewable resources and a strong commitment to the energy transition, which places it in a privileged position to lead the production of green hydrogen in Europe and throughout the world.

The power will have leaders such as Luis Candela, CEO of MPV SOLAR; and Héctor Erdociain, CSO & CTO of Chemik, who will share their experiences and perspectives on how suppliers can contribute to innovation and the development of more efficient renewable energy projects.

Finally, a last panel will be developed with the perspective of the business associations, where the development of renewable energies in the midst of this electoral year will be analyzed.

This event will be a great opportunity to learn first-hand about the latest trends and developments in the renewable energy industry, and to connect with industry experts and leaders in the Iberian market.
