Eni announces its new subsidiary “Eni Industrial Evolution” and strengthens its circular economy

The move responds to the need to optimize operations in the Europe and Middle East regions by consolidating legacy assets under a dedicated operating structure.

A new Eni entity takes shape with the start of 2026, under the name Eni Industrial Evolution, which seeks to lead the industrial transformation and strengthen the circular economy model within the group’s energy processes.

Since January 1, Eni Industrial Evolution has taken over the management of refineries such as Sannazzaro de’ Burgondi and Taranto, as well as its stake in the Milazzo Refinery and the Livorno plant. It also integrates logistic infrastructures, such as warehouses and pipelines, as well as the South Research Center in San Filippo del Mela.

The creation of this new company is aligned with Eni’s vision of moving towards a net-zero emissions energy model. To this end, Eni Industrial Evolution will develop new sustainable supply chains, promoting the reuse of resources and the efficiency of industrial processes in all its facilities.

In addition to maintaining activities such as the processing of raw materials and semifinished products semi-finished productsThe company will directly manage the logistics associated with the storage and distribution of products, under licenses and authorizations already transferred.

Operations between Eni and its new subsidiary will be regulated through specific contracts that ensure the continuity and legality of activities. At the head of Eni Industrial Evolution is Umberto Carrara, who will lead this stage in the transformation of the company’s energy business.
