Rosemount 9195: an accurate flowmeter in challenging conditions

Recently introduced to the market, the Rosemount 9195 wedge flow meter is presented as the solution to volumetric flow measurement in conditions where liquids present high viscosities, abrasiveness, tendencies to clog or work in high temperatures or even a combination of these factors. Emerson recognizes the challenges inherent in these measurements and proposes this device as the answer to these complexities.

For situations combining hot process media and cold ambient temperatures, where heat tracing would traditionally be required, the Rosemount 9195 eliminates the need for such a process by providing an optimized design that addresses these and other common measurement challenges. The wedge element configuration minimizes the chances of clogging and abrasion resistance, allowing accurate measurements of highly viscous liquids thanks to its linear response, even at low Reynolds numbers.

This sensor operates in a temperature range from -40 to 538 °C (-40 to 538 ºC) and can be equipped with the Rosemount 3051S thermal range expander for the measurement of hot or viscous liquids without the need for heat tracing systems, highlighting its design to reduce costs over the product life cycle.

David Wright, global product manager for the measurement solutions from EmersonThe Rosemount 9195, thanks to its integral design, facilitates the accurate measurement of liquids that would normally wear or clog other meters, incorporating solutions to a variety of customer problems through an innovative and reliable approach.

In addition, the bi-directional digital connection between the pressure transmitter and host systems allows effective communication across multiple protocols, providing accurate data transfer for process control and monitoring, diagnostics, among others.

Application versatility is further enhanced by three sensor/transmitter connection styles, which include the Compactto reduce the weight and facilitate cleaning; the Flangedwhich accepts discharge rings and valve assemblies; and the Threadingideal for applications with lower risk of clogging but high erosion or wear.
