EHang achieves certification for its EH216-S eVTOL

With these certifications, it becomes the first electric aerial vehicle company to receive the full set of regulations required for commercial aircraft operations in China.

Urban air mobility company EHang has obtained the Air Operator Certificate (AOC) for its EH216-S eVTOL aircraft , enabling manned flights in Chinese cities such as Guangzhou and Hefei.

With approval from the Civil Aviation Administration of China ( CAAC ), EHang is now ready to begin offering aerial tourism experiences and regular commercial flights. Residents and tourists will be able to purchase tickets to enjoy panoramic views of cities and participate in urban tours in this autonomous vehicle .

This achievement is one of many certifications the company has achieved, including the Type Certificate (TC), Standard Airworthiness Certificate (AC), and Production Certificate (PC) for unmanned eVTOL aircraft, among other regulations.

The EH216-S is a fully autonomous vertical take-off and landing ( VTOL ) vehicle designed to operate in urban environments, making it an ideal choice for passenger transport and logistics in congested cities.

The EH216-S , on the other hand, has the capacity to carry up to two people and a flight range of approximately 35 minutes, making it suitable for sightseeing flights, short-haul urban transport, and logistics missions. Featuring an all-electric propulsion system , the vehicle is designed to minimize its environmental impact and contribute to the sustainability of smart cities.

EHang plans to expand its operations to other Chinese cities , such as Guangzhou and Hefei, and even internationally. The company will continue to collaborate with local authorities and strategic partners to establish new operations centers and assist other operators in obtaining the Air Operator Certificates required to operate eVTOL vehicles.
