On February 19, DNV announced the launch of Industrial Services, a transformation that expands its historic inspection business into a global model focused on quality assurance and technical control for specialized energy and infrastructure.
The expanded scope of industrial services
Industrial assets are becoming larger and more interconnected. They also face increased compliance and traceability requirements in complex supply chains. The organization seeks to position itself as a technical partner with capabilities to accompany its clients throughout the asset lifecycle, from manufacturing and construction to operation and performance in industrialized services.
The new industrial focus extends to energy, renewables, power transmission, hydrogen, carbon capture and storage , railroads and advanced manufacturing. This expansion reflects the structural change in the energy sector and the growth of critical infrastructure linked to decarbonization and electrification.
In addition, the integration of the rail business as of January 2026 strengthens its presence in the following areas transportation and strategic infrastructures. With this, the company consolidates its technical capabilities in sectors that demand high standards of safety, risk management and quality control.
According to Mohamed Houari, CEO of DNV Industrial Services, today’s industrial assets are more critical to society and are subject to greater regulatory scrutiny. Under this premise, the company is committed to integrating technical expertise, global reach and local presence to protect asset performance and accelerate the execution of energy projects.
The strategy includes strengthening alliances with clients, expanding into adjacent industrial markets and enhancing data-driven digital solutions. The goal is to optimize service delivery, improve operational reliability and manage risks in highly complex environments.
From the operation as a business unit within the DNV Industrial Services Group, the company maintains strategic autonomy with corporate support. This structure allows it to scale international operations without losing regional execution capacity.
