G Mining Ventures Corp. issued a statement expressing deep regret over the death of a contractor at its Oko West gold project in Guyana. The tragic incident, which occurred on October 13, 2024, involved a traffic accident in a remote area of the project .

The victim worked for Hopkinson Mining Security Services Inc. , GMIN’s partner in the project. Local authorities, together with GMIN’s management in Guyana, have already launched an investigation to clarify the causes of the accident, with a commitment to implement improvements in safety protocols .
G Mining Ventures stressed that while the incident is regrettable, it did not impact overall operations at the site. However, the company reaffirms its commitment to mining safety and will ensure that it learns from this incident to strengthen protection measures for its employees and contractors across all of its projects. The company also reported that grief counselors will be available for those who need support.
