Recently, the New York Office of Renewable Energy Siting and Transmission ( ORES ) approved essential permits for Hecate Energy and Greenbacker Renewable Energy to continue the implementation of this initiative.
Founded in 2012, Hecate has been involved in the development of solar projects throughout the United States. With over 4.1 GW of developed projects, it has solidified its position as a leader in the renewable energy industry. Additionally, the company frequently partners with local communities to ensure projects are tailored to their specific needs, generating employment and lasting economic benefits.
Greenbacker Renewable Energy, for its part, is known for its focus on acquiring and managing renewable energy projects. The company seeks to invest in high-quality solar and wind farms, providing long-term clean energy through contracts with utilities, municipalities, and corporations.
The Cider Solar Farm is being built on a 2,500-acre site near Elba and Oakfield in Genesee County. Once operational, it is expected to generate approximately 920,000 megawatt-hours of renewable electricity annually.
