The energy company Plenitude has begun construction of a photovoltaic large-scale photovoltaic plant plant in Andalusia, consolidating its growth strategy in Spain. The project, called Entrenúcleos, is located between the Seville municipalities of Dos Hermanas and Coria del Río and will have an installed capacity of 200 MW.

Entrenúcleos solar power plant: four installations in one

The solar farm consists of four independent facilities (Granville, Killington, Plumlee and Rickwood), each with 50 MW, which together will occupy more than 300 hectares. The array is scheduled to be operational in 2026, with an annual output of more than 435 gigawatt hours (GWh), enough to power thousands of homes with solar energy.

The wind farm will be connected to the national grid through the Entrenúcleos SET substation and the infrastructure of Red Eléctrica Española in Dos Hermanas. The project, which is executed by the company Solarigwill include environmental measures such as plant islands and sustainable agricultural areas to preserve biodiversity, especially steppe birds.

Regional commitment and use of green steel

Entrenúcleos is part of Plenitude’s commitment to the energy transition in Andalusia, where it already has two other plants under construction: Guillena (230 MW) and Caparacena (150 MW). As part of its innovative approach, locally produced recycled steel structures with a zero carbon footprint will be tested.

Plenitude, an Eni subsidiary, currently operates in more than 15 countries and expects to reach 10 GW of installed renewable energy by 2028. In Spain, it has a portfolio of projects under development of more than 2 GW, distributed in several regions, including Extremadura, Galicia and Castilla-La Mancha. It also has more than 60,000 retail customers in Andalusia, strengthening its presence in the Iberian market.
