Company acquires hybrid solar and battery storage project in Australia

The project has a total capacity of 190 MW, enough to power 80,000 homes in Victoria.

Fotowatio Renewable Ventures (FRV) Australia has acquired the Axedale project , a hybrid solar photovoltaic (PV) and battery storage (BESS) facility. Located just 20 kilometres east of Bendigo, Victoria, the project will have a total capacity of 190 MW , with 140 MWac dedicated to solar generation and 50 MW/100 MWh for energy storage, ensuring reliable power production over a two-hour period.

More details about the Axedale project

The Axedale project is key to FRV Australia’s plan to establish itself as a leader in the renewable energy sector. With an estimated annual generating capacity of 369,459 MWh, this project will provide clean, renewable energy to power approximately 80,000 homes in Victoria , significantly contributing to the region’s energy transition .

The project is close to completing the necessary permits and has also secured a connection agreement with AusNet and AEMO, which will allow it to integrate efficiently into the electricity grid . With this acquisition, FRV Australia reinforces its commitment to creating sustainable energy solutions that promote energy efficiency and grid stability.

The acquisition of Axedale underscores our commitment to developing innovative projects that combine renewable energy and storage, key elements in ensuring grid stability and moving toward a cleaner, more efficient energy system. We are proud to contribute to Australia’s leadership in renewable energy.
