Clarkson Port Services has closed two strategic agreements with RWE Offshore Wind that will sustain the operations and maintenance activities of the Nordseecluster, the largest offshore wind complex under development off the German coast.
Logistical support for the Nordseecluster offshore wind farm
As part of the agreement, Clarkson Port Services will build an approximately 1,700 m² logistics warehouse at Beatrixhaven, within the port of Eemshaven. port of Eemshaven. Work will begin this summer and is scheduled for completion in spring 2026. RWE has signed a long-term lease to use the space, which will include office annexes and facilitate the operational management of the wind cluster.
The companies have contracted logistics and port services for a decade. This collaboration will enable Clarkson to provide technical and infrastructure support throughout the life cycle of the Nordseecluster. In addition, it is a comprehensive support from component warehousing to daily operation logistics.
The Nordseecluster, located 50 kilometers off the German island of Juist, will achieve a total capacity of up to 1.6 gigawatts. This will make it possible to generate clean energy to supply around 1,600,000 households. Furthermore, it will be implemented in two phases: the first (Nordseecluster A) will come on line in 2027 and the second (Nordseecluster B) will start commercial operations in 2029.
This project is led by RWE (51%) together with Norges Bank Investment Management (49%). In principle, RWE assumes full responsibility for construction and operation.
