CEVA Logistics has launched its LCL shipping service linking France to Côte d’Ivoire, using marine biofuel as a sustainable alternative. This initiative is part of the global CEVA FORPLANET strategy and marks a new stage in the decarbonization of supply chains.
The first strategic LCL maritime transport service
This new service connects the French cities of Rouen, Marseille and Lyon with the port of Abidjan, offering weekly departures and a transit time of 24 days. This breakbulk alternative responds to the demand for reliable, low-emission transportation between Europe and West Africa.
By implementing marine biofuels, CEVA is able to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by up to 84% compared to traditional ocean shipping methods. This makes the new route a preferred option for companies seeking to mitigate their environmental impact without compromising logistical efficiency.
The LCL route between France and Côte d’Ivoire is integrated into the CEVA FORPLANET program, launched in November 2024. This set of solutions enables companies to choose transport alternatives with a lower carbon footprint, take advantage of circular practices and use tools for monitoring and optimizing emissions.
In addition to marine biofuelIn addition to marine biofuel, CEVA offers other sustainable alternatives such as SAF fuel, land-based biofuels and electric vehicles. In the last year, the company avoided more than 26,000 tons of CO₂ by using more than 10 million liters of sustainable fuels in its operations.
CEVA’s new low-carbon shipping service from France to Côte d’Ivoire supports our core mission to continuously innovate and diversify our sustainable logistics offering.
CEVA’s ambition is to expand our capabilities to sustainably support our customers’ end-to-end supply chains.
We are proud to include this new LCL route to Abidjan in our portfolio of low-carbon solutions for West Africa, a key region in global trade and shipping.
