Energy company MET Group has announced an agreement with Celsius for the construction of its first LNG vessel . This strategic partnership is part of the LNG growth plan and aims to strengthen its energy supply infrastructure in Europe. The vessel is scheduled for delivery in 2027 and will be carried out by China Merchants Heavy Industry ( Jiangsu ), known for the construction of highly efficient vessels.
Celius’ first LNG vessel for MET Group
The new LNG carrier underlines the expansion of the company’s LNG activities, which underlines the commitment to sustainable and efficient energy solutions. MET’s capital partner, Celsius, and a major player in the maritime industry, brings its expertise in green infrastructure investments, ensuring that the vessel meets the highest standards of performance and sustainability.
The addition of this vessel is in line with MET’s strategy to diversify its LNG supply to meet growing demand in Europe. The company has recently signed a 10-year agreement with Shell for the supply of US LNG, consolidating its position as one of the most geographically diverse importers of LNG in Europe.
