Three talented heavy machinery operators are preparing to travel to Brazil and compete in the Caterpillar Operators Regional Challenge, which will take place this Saturday, October 29, and in which the 14 champions from nine Latin American countries will compete. This tournament also opens up the possibility of qualifying for the brand’s World Cup.
Fidel Cuno, Robert Suárez and Rubén García, took first, second and third place, respectively, in the 5th “Peru’s Best Heavy Equipment Operator” Contest, a national tournament organized by Ferreycorp and its companies Ferreyros, Unimaq and Orvisa, which reached the record of 2,800 registered.
To obtain the title of the best operator in Latin America, the contestants will have to go through five complex tests of precision, speed and efficiency, in which they will operate various Cat heavy equipment: excavators, backhoes, track-type tractors, mini-excavators and front loaders.
The operators that will participate in the regional challenge come from Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, the Dominican Republic, Suriname and Uruguay. Only one of them will be the winner and will participate in the Caterpillar Global Challenge, which will be held in the United States in March 2023 during the ConExpo International Fair, which will be attended by the nine best operators in the world.
