Danish company Cadeler announced the launching of Wind Ace, its eleventh unit specialized in the installation of offshore wind turbines. installation of offshore wind turbines. The event took place at the COSCO Qidong shipyard in China, where the hull was erected and completed in just four months.
An efficient and safe process in record time
Thanks to the coordination between Cadeler’s team, COSCO, certification body DNV and more than 1,000 skilled workers, the project has accumulated more than 2.9 million working hours without incident, which represents an achievement in terms of industrial safety.
The Wind Ace structure was completed entirely in dry dock, reflecting the shipyard’s ability to handle highly complex technical constructions in tight time frames.
What’s next for the Wind Ace vessel?
The vessel is scheduled to have the remaining sections of its legs installed, in addition to the main crane and essential commissioning systems. The vessel will be delivered in 2026 and will be integrated into Cadeler’s operations in Europe and Asia, expanding its capacity to install new-generation offshore wind turbines.
A strategic piece for the energy transition
The Wind Ace has been designed to operate the largest wind turbine models on the market and optimize installation times in large-scale projects. Its incorporation reinforces Cadeler’s position as one of the key players in the development of offshore clean energy infrastructure, at a time when the energy transition is accelerating in multiple global markets.
