In Australia, operations of bp pulse, the mobility company’s electric vehicle charging brand, began operations with plans for hundreds of high-speed vehicle chargers, following an initial wave of investment.
bp officially launched the new bp pulse fast charging points by Bernard Looney, the company’s global CEO. The first point is located at the brand’s service station in Brighton East, Melbourne.
The inauguration marked the beginning of the firm’s ambitions to install around 600 charging points across the country and build the fastest charging network for electric vehicles and the most comfortable customer experience in the country. Three points were opened to the public to celebrate the launch of the service.
“It’s brilliant to launch bp pulse in Australia, offering a high-speed, quality charging experience to help accelerate the transition to electric vehicles. Australia’s ambition is to be a renewable energy superpower and this is just one of the ways we are supporting the country that has supported bp for over a century,” Looney said.
The launch of bp pulse means Australia will be part of the company’s ambitions to install more than 100,000 electric vehicle chargers around the world, helping to accelerate the transition to zero-emission vehicles. The initial deployment will consist of the installation of chargers in major metropolitan and regional bp outlets along the east coast of Australia.
