Bluewhale Offshore to deploy the SSCV Blue Greta on the Bonga North project

Bluewhale Offshore, in alliance with OOS International, has signed a contract for the SSCV Blue Gretha semi-submersible construction vessel, which will service the Bonga North project, developed offshore Nigeria. The unit will be essential for accommodation and heavy lift operations for the project’s EPC contractor, whose end client is Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company (SNEPCo).

The Blue Gretha is currently undergoing a refit at CIMC Raffles Shipyard in Yantai, China. The refurbishment work is aimed at adapting its capabilities to the demanding requirements of the Nigerian offshore environment.

With a length of 81 meters, capacity to accommodate up to 618 people and two 1800 metric ton Huisman cranes, the vessel is designed to handle heavy lift operations, gangway connections and offshore technical support, highlighting its operational stability in demanding and adverse conditions.
