Berg Propulsion and Nakkaş Shipping’s new contract.

This new vessel of 5700 deadweight tons will maintain the design developed by Navis Design & Engineering and already used on its predecessors. With a length of 99.99 meters and a beam of 16.6 meters, it will be equipped with a 1920 kW propulsion capable of reaching speeds of up to 11.5 knots.

The system supplied will include an MPP850 controllable pitch propeller, a 4000 mm diameter propeller and an MTT111FP tunnel thruster with variable frequency drive. This configuration has proven effective for versatile operations on diverse routes, according to shipowner Emir Basak, a partner of Nakkaş Shipping.

From its headquarters in Istanbul, Berg Propulsion Eurasia’s operation has been key in the company’s regional expansion, facilitating orders for both commercial vessels tugboats and naval units. The production facility located in Hönö, Sweden, will be responsible for manufacturing the equipment to be delivered to the Turkish shipyard.

Regional sales manager Taner Gündoğdu emphasized that this tenth delivery represents a continued validation of the trust between the two companies. He also underlined the role of collaboration with Navis designers in optimizing performance from the first vessel in the series.

The ninth tanker in this series will be delivered in 2025, reinforcing a relationship that has enabled Nakkaş to develop a modern fleet backed by efficient and reliable propulsion solutions. This technical and commercial alliance continues to position both companies as benchmarks in the modernization of regional shipping.
