Azule Energy’s NGC Drilling Campaign

The company has officially started work on the first NGC well, designated QUI-Q-GP01, using the Jack-up Valaris V-144 platform. This action marks the consortium’s operational start in the development of non-associated gas in Angola, considered a strategic priority for the country.

The Valaris V-144 offshore drilling unit, operated by Valaris Limited, was selected for this initial stage because of its technical capacity and efficiency in shallow waters. In addition, its deployment represents a strategic advance in the execution of the development plan led by the oil company.

This first well is part of a broader strategy to increase natural gas production in the natural gas production in the region. in the region. For its part, Azule Energy, as operator of the consortium, collaborates with partners such as Chevron and Sonangol to provide safe and sustainable energy solutions.

The NGC initiative seeks to tap Angola’s non-associated gas resources to meet growing energy demand. The development of the QUIOBO field and other planned structures will strengthen the country’s gas infrastructure in the coming years.

With this milestone, Azule Energy strengthens its position as a strategic player in the energy transition of the African continent. The start-up of the first well is a symbol of technical progress, and a concrete action towards the responsible development of Angola’s natural resources.
