From the United Kingdom, Avenir LNG , a company specialized in the provision of small-scale liquefied natural gas (LNG), has formalized an agreement with Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering of China, part of CIMC Enric, for the construction of two vessels intended for the supply and supply of LNG.

The ships, with a capacity of 20,000 cubic meters each, are scheduled to be delivered in the last quarter of 2026 and the first quarter of 2027 and in terms of technical innovations, The vessels will feature innovative Type C tank designs, reduced evaporation rates and the latest engine technologies.
The optimization of the hull shape and the implementation of subcoolers promise to reduce carbon emissions and cargo losses, which marks a significant advance compared to other vessels of similar dimensions, according to Avenir LNG.

Expanding the operating possibilities, the design of the new vessels is designed to maximize compatibility and versatility, allowing the loading and unloading of LNG and BioLNG in a wide spectrum of vessels and receiving terminals. This order significantly expands Avenir’s fleet, increasing the number of its vessels by 40% and raising its total capacity by 80%, reinforcing its position as a leader in maritime LNG transportation.
Strengthening ties and future expectations, the general director of Avenir LNG, Jonathan Quinn, expressed his enthusiasm for renewing the collaboration with the SOE shipyard, recalling the success in the construction of the last four vessels and anticipating the incorporation of these two modern vessels to the fleet in the coming years. Quinn also highlighted the growing demand for LNG and BioLNG as ship fuels, highlighting the crucial role these vessels will play in securing supply and contributing to the decarbonisation of global maritime markets.
