Avangrid has begun commercial operation of its new Powell Creek solar farm, located in Putn Countyamcounty, Ohio. With a capacity of 202 MWdc (150 MWac), this plant becomes the company’s second operational project in the state, following the Blue Creek wind farm.

Economic benefits of Powell Creek for the community
Powell Creek represents an improvement in regional energy capacity and also generates tangible economic impact. It is estimated to contribute more than $31 million in local tax revenues over its lifetime, in addition to generating approximately $1.1 million annually in lease payments to landowners.
The municipality of Miller City will benefit directly from the project through new revenues that will allow for the construction of a sewer system, which is key to the development of new homes and businesses. This measure breaks with the limitations imposed by the exclusive use of individual septic systems in the area.
