Airbike: Volonaut’s flying motorcycle transforming personal mobility

The Airbike can fly at 200 km/h without using rotating propellers, thanks to a jet propulsion system and automatic stabilization.

Polish startup Volonaut officially presented its most ambitious creation: the Airbike, a jet-powered flying motorcycle that takes the concept of individual air mobility to a new level of technical sophistication.

The project, led by inventor Tomasz Patan, has just left its “secret development” stage to show the world a compact aircraft, without rotating propellers, capable of traveling at speeds of up to 200 km/h. With a futuristic design, the vehicle is intended to carry a single person with intuitive control and automated stabilization.

Physics-defying lightweight design

Constructed with materials made of carbon fiber high-strength carbon fiber materials, 3D printed components and minimalist architecture, the Airbike weighs seven times less than a conventional motorcycle. This feature not only improves flight efficiency, but also allows for agile maneuvering in dense urban areas or areas that are difficult to access.

Another highlight is the absence of exposed propellers, which increases safety and reduces operational constraints. The driving experience is enriched by a forward piloting position, full panoramic vision and a human-machine interface that responds in real time thanks to a computer-assisted navigation system.

The flying motorcycle that redefines aerial mobility

The concept of aerial urban mobility is gaining traction in the technology market. Compared to larger options such as the eVTOLVolonaut’s proposal represents an agile, individual and more affordable alternative that can operate with less infrastructure and training.

According to its creators, this vehicle “is the realization of an audacious concept often portrayed in science fiction movies” and whose goal is to move with total freedom from the air, without the need for runways, without spinning propellers and without bulky structures.

Marketing details and price estimates have not yet been disclosed, but the prototype has already been tested in real conditions.

A release close to Star Wars Day

The official launch of the Airbike took place a few days before May 4, the date on which Star Wars Day is celebrated. The coincidence is not minor: the design of this aircraft refers directly to the saga’s airbikes and has captured the attention of the media, personal aviation enthusiasts and experts in technological innovation.

So to make it even more special, the company prepared a Volonaut Airbike video inspired by the aforementioned saga that was released just in its day.

Volonaut joins the new generation of startups seeking to redraw the boundaries of individual transportation. Its commitment to a lighter, more precise and personal model opens a new chapter in the way we conceive everyday flight. Watch the video of its launch below!
