It should be noted that the endurance flight marks the close of a year of tests and demonstrations throughout Canada, Alaska, Arizona and California. The EEL demonstrator aircraft has played a fundamental role as a test platform for the hybrid electric propulsion unit installed on the Ampaire Eco Caravan.

According to the company, this configuration reduces fuel consumption and emissions by up to 70% compared to conventional turboprop engines.

Founded in 2016, Ampaire conducted the first test flight of its Electric EEL technology aircraft in 2019. Additionally, the company highlights another achievement by claiming the record for the longest flight for a hybrid electric aircraft, covering 1,135 miles en route from Los Angeles to Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
